Renewable Energy Generation Limited said it expects to receive a formal takeover offer soon.
The company, which previously announced it was in talks with an unnamed firm, said it remains in discussions with the potential buyer.
Shareholders will be expected at an annual general meeting to consider the proposals.
A spokesman for the company said: “The board anticipate receipt of a formal offer following conclusion of the buyer’s due diligence into the assets, which is nearing completion.”
