The subsea excavation arm of James Fisher and Sons has added one the world’s most powerful tools to its arsenal.
James Fisher Subsea Excavation (JFSE) said the SP12000 was a “game changer” for clients with large-scale projects.
The SP12000 has been billed as the most powerful hydraulic mass flow excavators on the market.
The piece of kit is designed to carry out large seabed preparation projects, including pipeline trenching.
JFSE said it had recently re-engineered the SP12000 to enable it to cut trenches on the seabed with even more precision.
It produces more than 6 tonnes of thrust at full power and has an output of 12,000 litres of water per second, according to JFSE, whose parent company is based in Cumbria.
Graham Murdoch, technical director of JFSE, said: “Adding the SP12000 to our range means we can support our clients on an even wider range of projects.
“The ability to match different tools to any given workscope allows us to provide the most time and cost-effective solutions available for projects worldwide.”
“The SP12000 is a massive step forward in mass, or controlled, flow excavation. It has immense power with the capability to provide large-scale clearance and trenching, but it retains the precision and controllability to be as safe and exact as our other market-leading tools.
“This is a real game changer for our clients who have large-scale requirements.”
