A English offshore engineering and technology company is looking to increase its headcount by 40% after securing millions of pounds worth of contracts so far this year.
Northumberland-based Osbit Ltd has bagged around £7.5million worth of additional work in the past three months.
It includes projects for the oil and gas, subsea and offshore wind sectors.
The boost to the ledgers is allowing the company to hire 16 new employees including engineers, support staff and contractors.
Youngsters are also benefiting from the contracts boon, with three undergraduates undertaking placements with the company and a fourth shortly joining on a year long stint.
Managing director of Osbit, Brendon Hayward, said: “Our reputation for delivering innovative offshore engineering with a flexible service is enabling us to secure new work, which, in turn, is generating new employment opportunities.
“As part of the North East of England’s high quality energy sector supply we are proud to draw upon the region’s skilled and talented workforce, while also attracting people from outside of the area.
“We have a strong track record in attracting graduate engineers to the business, many of whom have previously completed placements with us, and who can see the exciting career progression we offer at Osbit.”
