OFFSHORE technology firm Monitor Systems Scotland, of Aberdeen, said yesterday a new deal with Transocean took the total value of recent contracts to over £1.1million.
MSS, which supplies control and monitoring instrumentation systems to the oil and gas industry, said the extra work had sparked a recruitment drive.
The firm, which employs 15 directly and up to 30 indirectly as sub-contractors, depending on the size and nature of each contract, is looking to take on five new workers by the end of the year. The latest deal with Transocean will see it supply, instal and commission monitoring equipment for the semi-submersible rig Paul B. Loyd Jr in the North Sea.
Other recent contracts were with Transocean, Northern Offshore and Dolphin Drilling. Managing director Brian Sinclair said: “These contracts are excellent examples of our engineering team working closely with clients to develop innovative, customised solutions that will more than handle their requirements.”
