A SEARCH has been launched to find the country’s top apprentices in the 10th Skills Development Scotland Modern Apprenticeship Awards.
They celebrate the significant contribution apprentices, employers and partners have made to the development of the modern apprenticeship programme and Scotland’s economy.
The 2011 award categories have been revised to reflect the changing face of apprenticeships and now include young construction and production apprentice of the year, young service apprentice of the year, adult apprentice of the year, and advanced apprentice of the year.
Employer awards include categories for businesses with fewer than 50 workers, for companies with up to 250 and more than 250 employees. There is a partnership award for groups who can show their commitment to apprentices.
A new Best Business Newcomer award will be given to a company – from any sector – which has shown a commitment to modern apprentice training.
The awards ceremony will take place on December 7, 2011, at Glasgow Science Centre.
