ABERDEEN’S two universities will come together this week to showcase their engineering research.
Representatives from the local energy sector will get the chance to find out about industry-related research being undertaken by students at Robert Gordon and Aberdeen universities.
The 30 postgraduate MSc students will display posters outlining their projects – many of which have been produced in response to a company’s specific need.
Energy Institute Aberdeen Highlands and Islands branch vice-chairman Denis Pinto said: “Some of the brightest young minds of the future are applying their research to current problems in the sector and are keen for those within the industry to view first hand what they are capable of, and see how they could benefit from the findings.”
The event will be presided over by Jeremy Cresswell, the Press and Journal energy supplement editor and honorary professor at RGU’s Aberdeen Business School.
An Opportunity for Industry will take place at Elphinstone Hall at Aberdeen University on Thursday from 6pm to 8.30pm. The event is free but anyone interested in attending should register at
