Aberdeen company Axis Well Technology said yesterday it had opened a new office at nearby Westhill to accommodate its growth.
The well and petroleum-engineering support consultant recently added subsurface reservoir development work to its portfolio and a team set up to focus on this business will be based at the new Arnhall Business Park site.
Managing director Jim Anderson said some employees at its Aberdeen Science and Technology Park headquarters, at Bridge of Don, would also move to Westhill. Axis has increased its workforce to 125 from 100 a year ago and turnover in 2011 was more than £17million, compared with just £14million the year before.
Mr Anderson said he anticipated further growth this year as demand for independent consultancy services remained high. Axis planned to recruit about 25 people again this year, he said, adding: “We are in a good, positive place at the moment, as we have been for the last few years.”
It is looking to open other offices in the UK and overseas and Mr Anderson did not rule out adding services. He said: “We are always reviewing what may be a good fit for the company and will consider other consultancy opportunities which we feel could work for us.”
