A north-east graduate has paid tribute to an Aberdeen recruitment expert for helping her find her dream job.
Kate MacGregor starts with Subsea Engineering Technical Services (SETS) as a graduate subsea engineer later this month.
The 22-year-old has thanked Sarah Hutcheon, branch manager of Morson International in Aberdeen, for guiding her through the recruitment process.
Arbroath-based Kate is in the final stages of completing her HND Petroleum Engineering course at Adam Smith College at Glenrothes.
Then she will enter the workplace for the first time for real.
“I can’t thank Sarah enough for all the help and advice she’s given to me over the last few months,” said Kate.
“She helped to totally transform my CV and there’s no doubt with her experience she has helped me to stand out from the crowd.
“Sarah delivered an encouraging presentation to all the students and that has helped to stand me, and the others, in good stead during the selection process.
“Her advice on interview techniques and what sort of questions to expect proved to be invaluable.
“I’m also fortunate in that I know Mark Whittle who works at SETS so found out they were hiring through him. Then Sarah helped me to do the rest.”
Sarah, who has more than a decade of recruitment industry experience, is pleased she has been able to help one of the next generation of engineers secure a job.
“I’m really pleased I have been to help find Kate a job that’s ideally suited to her qualifications,” she said.
“Joining a company like SETS is a great opportunity for Kate and I’m extremely hopeful many more students from Adam Smith College will also secure relevant positions.”
