Maggie Braid Associates (MBA), competence assurance specialists to the oil and gas industry, has further expanded its international operations after completing its first specialist project in Bangladesh.
The Aberdeen-based company secured a contract with Tullow Oil Bangladesh to use its enterprise competence management software, ‘Encompass’, to manage Tullow’s own competence assurance system.
The initial stages of the work involved a comprehensive analysis of Tullow Oil Bangladesh’s existing systems and processes, before MBA developed a bespoke competence management system.
A team of specialists from MBA travelled to Bangladesh in May 2012 to work alongside Tullow Oil’s onsite personnel to ensure the new system was deployed in a smooth and efficient manner.
During this key stage of the project, MBA facilitated a range of training and mentoring for Tullow Oil assessors, administrators and system users.
MBA is to continue to provide Tullow Oil Bangladesh with ongoing specialist consultancy, support, annual audits and software maintenance.
The work has seen MBA’s plans for expanding its operations across the globe take a major step forward. As well as servicing the UK oil and gas industry, the company has also recently secured projects with Maersk Oil in Qatar, and SapuraAcergy in Singapore.
MBA operations director Karen Bellu said: “We are delighted to have successfully completed the initial stages of this project for Tullow Oil Bangladesh and are looking forward to continuing our ongoing relationship with the company.
“The deployment of Encompass heralds another exciting chapter for MBA and we look forward to implementing the software for clients across the globe.”
