Aberdeen-based Mintra Training Portal said yesterday it had signed a string of contracts worth £8million in recent weeks.
The learning, training and competency solutions provider for the oil and gas industry was set up only 18 months ago, but in the last two months it has agreed deals with operators and service companies for work at home and abroad.
MTP said it would be recruiting five people after winning the contracts, and there were plans to add a further 10 in the coming months. The company currently employs more than 80 people.
The new business comes after MTP invested more than £2million in its TrainingPortal learning management system.
Business development director Sally Finnie said: “We are very pleased with the company’s achievements to date in delivering projects and value for our clients.
“We have built a world-class team and secured a number of long-term contracts which help to demonstrate the industry’s readiness to adopt an innovative, fresh, approach to learning, training and competency.
“Our focus now is to continue delivering value for our clients and we are looking to strengthen our team and our capability to deliver going forward, so we can rise to bigger challenges in the future.”
MTP said that its clients under the new deals included CNR International, Talisman Energy and Apache, with some of the contracts lasting up to five years.
The company has also agreed a deal with Petrofac to help the services business develop an e-learning training programme for offshore workers, providing clarity on safe systems of work.
MTP is a joint venture between Norwegian company Mintra and Aberdeen investment firm Enerco Venture.
The business provides training to more than 250,000 people working for more than 300 oil and gas companies.
