A scheme offering funded internships for Scottish students in firms from GE to Wood Group has had record applications for its 2013 scheme.
The Saltire Foundation, set up in 2007, aims to “find, fuel and spark Scotland’s human potential”.
Last year, it offered 92 funded internships with 40 companies in 32 towns and cities around the world to students from 56 disciplines studying at 13 Scottish universities.
Host companies included GE, Wood Group and Cameron as well as Diageo, National Trust for Scotland Foundation and Aggreko.
It said a record number had applied for the 2013 scheme, which will see yet more students travelling the world to work at global firms.
