Aker Solutions has bought engineering firm International Design Engineering and Services as it looks to strengthen its asset integrity management services.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed, although it is understood there will be no job losses among Ideas’ 14 staff members.
The Glasgow-based engineering company develops softwarre and technology for improving lifetime analysis of oil and gas assets.
“This technology strengthens our offering of asset integrity management services,” said Tore Sjursen, head of Aker Solutions’ maintenance and modifications business.
“It can be used to predict the lifetime of an installation in a more effective manner. It also helps us plan more targeted maintenance and inspection activities, and increases the quality and precision of our services.”
