Dana Petroleum has replaced all nine mooring chains on its Triton floating production, storage and offloading vessel – which should support the vessel for the next decade.
Offshore teams from Dana, InterMoor, Subsea 7, Wood Group PSN and Optimus replaced the nine chains, each weighing 150 tonnes, in just 24 days.
The chains, manufactured by Vicinay in Bilbao, were transported to the North Sea before three specialist craft replaced the chains.
The company said it had also extracted the 200millionth barrel from the North Sea using the Triton last week.
