Geoscience firm ARK has launched a new collaboration system aimed at cutting the costs of managing large amounts of seismic data.
The GeoDataSync, which is a plugin for Petrel seismic simulation tool, will allow users to access 3D seismic data and other information.
The system, launched at this week’s Society of Exploration Geophysicists conference in Houston, is aimed at improving workflow and cutting the costs needed to store large amounts of 3D data.
“Seismic interpretation today is complicated by so many different geoscience software packages and – through the popularity of large 3D seismic cubes – so much data that it’s easy for seismic interpreters to become overwhelmed,” said Ark managing director Adrian Bennetton.
“Running quietly in the background and lightweight, fast and efficient, GeoDataSync unifies the seismic interpretation workflow and enables interpreters to focus on their number one priority – accurately characterizing the subsurface.”
