The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) has launched a a certificate system aimed to combat fraud.
The system includes increased security features to help combat faked qualifications such as holograms, serial numbers, watermarks and a QR code.
Antony Quin, general manager of IWCF, said: “While certificate fraud isn’t common, we have been made aware of some instances where training centres have issued invalid certificates or individuals tampered with their qualifications.
“The new measures we have introduced will help prevent this from happening as the certificates will be much harder to duplicate.”
The new technology is expected be rolled out to the firm’s training centres in April 2015.
