Amec Foster Wheeler has won a contract from Yuhang Chemical Inc (YCI) for its first major project in the US. The subsidiary of Shandong Yuhuang company has planned a 1.7million tons per year world-scale methanol on the Mississippi River in Louisiana. The contract will see Amec Foster Wheeler provide engineering, project management, procurement and early construction services.
Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded an engineering contract by Felguera IHI for the expansion of the Zeebrugge Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal in Belgium. The contract will be delivered over the next 15 months with the company’s scope including detailed engineering of the boil-off gas recovery system and associated facilities. The LNG Terminal is owned and operated by Fluxys LNG from Belgium.
Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Hanwha Energy for the design and supply of a steam generator for a new power plant in South Korea. The win comes just a day after the company announced it had entered in an extension on the UZ750 project on one of the Gulf’s largest oil fields. Amec Foster Wheeler said under the contract it will design and supply the 100 MWe steam generator for the power plant’s boiler island and provide onsite technical advisory services.
Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded an extension for its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) contract for the UZ750 project. The agreement is for the Upper Zakum field 84 kilometres north-west of Abu Dhabi. The Zakum Development Company (ZADCO) awarded the contract as it operated the field through a venture involving the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, ExxonMobil and the Japan Oil Development Company.

The company said commercial operation of the plant is expected to start by the end of 2018 and has the potential to provide heat to around 70,000 households. The contract was awarded by the Government of Timor-Leste. The scope of work includes concept selection srudies, development of technical design and development of procurement and construction strategies.

The agreement wll see company provide laboratory-based analysis to characterise waste from the site's extensive decommissioning programme and determine the radioactive and chemical make-up.
Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract by Hyundai Engineering for the design and supply of two 15-megawatt CFB cteam generators for a new power plant in the Phillipines. The company, which did not disclose the value of the awarded, said the generators would be for the power plant's boiler island and provide onsite technical advisory services. Commercial operation of the plant, in the central province of Cebu,is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.
Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a contract from BP worth more than $73million to provide maintenance and project support for the Forties pipeline system in the North Sea. The deal includes work on the Unity offshore platform and onshore pumping stations in Aberdeenshire and Perthshire, as well as the Central Area Transmission (CATS) terminal in north-east England. It will run until January 2020 and will be managed from Amec Foster Wheeler's Aberdeen offices.

Amec Foster Wheeler has been awarded a FEED (Front End Engineering Design) contract by Chevron to work on its Captain EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery) development in the North Sea. The newly merged company said the contract award has not yet been announced for the work on the field, which is 68 miles offshore north of Aberdeen. The scope of the work includes FEED design of the proposed Bridge Linked Platform (BLP) which will be used to store, mix and pump polymer.
