The European Aviation Safety Agency has issued an airworthiness directive for the Airbus A350 model helicopter – the same model that was involved in a crash in Bergen last week.
Union organisation Offshore Coordinating Group said offshore workers remained concerned about any resumption of flights of the Airbus Super Puma H225, following the Norwegian authorities decision to ban all flights, including search and rescue missions.
The CHC helicopter returning from Statoil’s platform crashed on Norway’s rugged coastline, just 23km from Bergen’s Flesland airport. The aircraft was carrying 11 passengers and 2 crew. Norwegian emergency services mobilised after the copter came down at 11am UK time.
