Buru Energy has hired Transborders Energy to study an innovative offshore LNG solution to export gas and condensate from its large Rafael discovery in the Canning basin onshore Australia.
Buru Energy said it has identified a five metre sandstone interval at the Ungani Far West 1 well in North Western Australia.
The company said an oil sample was recovered with interpretation of pressure data indicating a potential oil column of at least 14 metres with around five metres of net pay.
A sampling program is continuing with results expected to be on going.
Buru Energy has spudded the Sunbeam 1 well in the Canning Basin of Western Australia.
The well has a maximum depth of 1,200metres and is expected to take some 16 days to drill.
It is located in the exploration permit of EP 129 and the completion of the well will satisfy the four year work commitment on that permit.
