Egdon Resources has revealed encouraging results from the pumped test carried out at the Wressle-1 oil and gas discovery in licence PEDL180 in England.
The company said assessments carried out over the Penistone flags zone 3A showed a production rate of more than 180 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
Previous initial testing at the Ashover Grit, the Wingfield Flags and the Pensitone Flags had been carried out but due to a problem with downhole testing equipment, test operations were switched to focus on the shallower Penistone region.
Egdon Resources said it has recorded further encouraging flow test results from its Wressle-1 oil and gas discovery in England.
The company said test operations have been carried out on the first set of perforations in the Penistone Flags reservoir, the last of three hydrocarbon zones identified in the well.
The Penistone test produced gas at restricted flow rates of up to 1.7million cubic feet of gas per day (mmcfd) with associated oil of up to 12 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
Egdon Resources said test operations have now been completed on the Wingfield Flags reservoir at the Wressle-1 oil discovery in England.
The reservoir is the second of three potentially hydrocarbon bearing zones identified in the well.
Oil production rates equivalent of up to 182 barrels of oil per day of good quality 39-40 API oil were achieved on free flow, along with up to 456 thousand cubic feet of gas per day.
Egdon Resources will undertake a longer term production test following positive free-flow results from Wressle-1.
The company said ongoing well test operations in licence PEDL 180 have now been completed in the Ashover Grit, the first of three potentially hydrocarbon bearing zones identified in the well.
An interval of 9.5metres was perforated and following an initial ‘clean-up’ flow, oil production of 80 barrels of oil per day were achieved during a 16 hour main flow period along with 47,000 cubic feet of gas per day.
