EnerMech is working on a £5million contract to prepare the Glen Lyon FPSO for delivering first oil from BP’s Quad 204 project, the mechanical engineering group said today. Quad 204 involves redeveloping the Schiehallion and Loyal fields, 110 miles west of Shetland, with the intention squeezing another 450million barrels from them. Glen Lyon, which is 885ft long and 170ft wide, is expected to process 130,000 barrels of oil and 220 million cubic feet of gas per day when production starts.
EnerMech has confirmed plans to make 90 further job losses from its North Sea operations.

Aberdeen firm EnerMech is to turn its expertise to good use in a £36billion development which will deliver an estimated 8% of the world’s total liquefied natural gas (LNG) production. The mechanical engineering group said yesterday it had won “multimillion-dollar” contracts for the air drying and nitrogen purging of six gas storage tanks at the new Curtis Island LNG facilities in Queensland, Australia. US-based construction and civil engineering giant Bechtel has asked EnerMech to provide pre-engineering, supervision, manpower and equipment for work on the tanks, which together hold the equivalent of 56 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Enermech has signed a joint venture agreement with the Abdulla Fouad Group (AFG) to support its growing operations in Saudi Arabia. The deal by the international mechanical services group comes after AFG’s acquisition of the Shoabi Group’s oil and gas agencies last month. Enermech’s operations in Saudi Arabia include providing crane, hydraulics, valves and pipelines services to the oil and gas industry.
Energy service firm Enermech will invest £3million in boosting its Norwegian workforce and equipment, the company has announced. The move comes after the company appointed Stian Urke as its sales manager to strengthen the firm's PPU division in Norway. Enermech will boost its employee numbers from 60 to 75 which will include senior positions in both the hydraulics and equipment rental divisions as it expands in both Bergen and Stavanger.
