Partners sought to saddle up on Equus

Australia’s Western Gas is seeking partners to bring its Equus LNG project into production by 2024. The company has a plan for gas from the offshore Equus fields to be transported, via a 160 km pipeline, to a floating LNG (FLNG) facility near the shore.

Ophir Energy close to signing-off on agreements for Fortuna FLNG

Ophir Energy said it is in the process of signing off on its long-term agreements for its Fortuna FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) project off Equatorial Guinea. The company will be working with a shortlisted group of counterparts all of which are globally established LNG buyers. The offtake contracts offer flexibility to competitively deliver the gas into either the Atlantic or Pacific Basin and Ophir said they had been met with strong interest from LNG buyers.

Cameroon FLNG gas convention signed

A milestone has been reached in the Cameroon floating liquefied natural gas project after parties signed a gas convention. The final investment decision commits the project to a targeted start date for commissioning in the second quarter of 2017. At a signing ceremony in Cameroon the country’s state-owned oil company Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures (SNH), Perenco Cameroon, Golar Hilli Corporation and Golar Cameroon executed a an agreement which endorses and governs the installation and operation of the GoFLNG vessel in Cameroon waters offshore of Kribi.

Wood Group Kenny wins $6million Woodside contract

Wood Group has won a new contract to carry out front end engineering and design (FEED) work for the proposed Woodside Browse Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) development. The 12 month contract for the project offshore Western Australia, is worth $6million and will be carried out by Wood Group Kenny (WGK). The company will perform all design engineering for the insulated production flowline system required for the assets offshore gas-condensate fields from their offices in Perth. The three assets – Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa – are 300km from the Kimberley coast.

Woodside Petroleum delays Browse FLNG schedule

Woodside Petroleum has pushed back its schedule for the Browse FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) project as it looks to take advantage of lower costs. The company said a revised schedule had been agreed. Woodside has already completed basis of design and key preparation work for the proposed development.

Ophir signs up midstream partner for FLNG work

Ophir Energy has appointed Excelerate Energy as its lead midstream partner for the provision of FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) storage facilities in Equatorial Guinea. The company has been appointed as the lead in a consortium of technology providers that is expected to include Samsung Heavy Industries and Black and Veatch. Ophir said negotiations regarding an MOU (Memorandum of Unerstanding) had now concluded and a deal was expected to be signed tday, between the EquatoGuinean Ministry of Mines, Industry and Energy (MMIE), GEPetrol, Ophir and Excelerate.
