China is in a “golden age” for natural gas that will make it the world’s biggest user of the fuel sometime between 2040 and 2050, according to analysts at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.
With further large gas discoveries offshore Mozambique and Tanzania, it would appear that East Africa is on track to becoming a major hydrocarbons province in its own right.
Anadarko's 7th well drilled offshore Mozambique has successfully appraised previous discoveries Lagosta and Camarao. The Lagosta-2 appraisal well, located about 7km north of the Lagosta discovery and 8.5 km south of the Camarao well, encountered 37m (777 total net ft) of natural gas pay in multiple zones.
Anadarko has made what appears to have the makings of a major hydrocarbons discovery off Mozambique, East Africa, where there has so far been little offshore exploration, let alone success.
