Sound Energy has signed a binding agreement with Oil & Gas Investment Fund (OGIF) to allow the company to acquire a 55% interest in the Meridja permit, onshore Morocco.

The company said the deal had been reached with Rex Bonparte after it was recently informed of changes to its management strategy. Rex plans to focus on its key discovery assets in Norway and Oman instead.
Global Petroleum has chosen to withdraw from Juan De Nova Permit in the Mozambique Channel. The decision was taken as a result of slow progress in approval of an application for an extension two years ago. The company said there had been “no visibility” as to when a formal decision would be taken.
Lundin Norway has been granted a drilling permit by the NPD (Norwegian Petroleum Directorate) for a fifth exploration well in production licence 609. The company said well 7220/6-2 will be drilled from the Island Innovator facility.
