The UK North Sea Brent pipeline system may have to close briefly during repairs to the legs of the Cormorant Alpha platform, the Abu Dhabi based operating company said on Monday.
On September 1, Taqa Bratani assumed operatorship of the UK's Brent pipeline system in the East Shetland Basin. The news appeared to come from out of the blue even though it was apparently never a secret that Shell had resigned as network operator in July 2008.
Sterling Resources has taken over operatorship of the Sheryl oil discovery in the central North Sea from Oilexco North Sea (ONS), which went into administration in early January.
