North Sea operator Premier Oil saw tens of millions pounds wiped off its market value yesterday amid speculation suggesting some of its lenders were baling out.
Premier Oil has issued a public notice after it applied to DECC (Department of Energy and Climate Change) for a permit to use and discharge chemicals in connection with the Solan field.
Premier Oil has taken full ownership of the Solan field.
The UK-listed oil company acquired the 40% stake in the field which it did not already own.
It purchased Chrysador’s interest in the Solan field, West of Shetland, for nil upfront consideration.
