Stirling Group has strengthened its team with the appointment of two new members in the field of crisis management. Ray Ramsay has been made regional manager for crisis and continuity management (CCM) and Dominic Webb has been made global principal project manager. Ramsay joined Stirling Group last year as strategic projects manager for emergency response and crisis management.
Stirling Group announced another key change for its Aberdeen-based UK business yesterday. It is just over a month since the Middle East company, which delivers health, safety and environmental services to the global oil and gas industry, rebranded its Altor Risk Group subsidiary. Alan McIntyre has been appointed to head up emergency response and crisis management consultancy services in the UK, which includes the running of the £250,000 incident management centre (IMC) in Aberdeen.
The oil and gas industry downturn is a chance to revolutionise health and safety services, Stirling Group managing director Angus Neil said yesterday. But firms must not use the lower oil prices as an excuse to relax their commitment to high safety standards offshore, he warned. He added: “Training, for example, is an easy target in a downturn but companies must take the potential impact on safety and risk into their cost-cutting considerations. “Oil and gas companies simply cannot afford to cut corners in safety critical areas.”
