A man killed offshore after a freak wave hit a semi-submersible drilling rig in the Norwegian North Sea has been named.
Rune Morten Narvag, 53, died last week after fierce weather across the North Sea caused by Storm Frank.
ACE Winches said it has completed an order for Statoil for their subsea line modification project designed for use on the Troll B platform offshore Norway.
The Norwegian operator had required a rental Pull in Winch System including wire rope and HPU.
The rental package supplied incorporated a compact design and weight optimized linear winch, designed for use in land based shore pulls and offshore wire rope deployment and recovery operations.
Statoil marked 20 years this week since the start of oil production from the Troll field which has been Norway’s largest oil producer for the last three years.
In the past two decades more than one billion barrels has been produced with an income of NOK460billion.
The Troll oil and gas adventure started with the awarding of the fourth licensing round in 1979.
In July of that year, Borgny Dolphin began exploration drilling and four months later Troll was a fact.
