East Timor is considering building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) import terminal and converting oil-fired power plants to gas in an effort to slash energy supply costs and cut greenhouse gas emissions. The move seems slightly ironic given the country advocated developing an LNG export complex for much of the past decade.
Wood Group has secured a contract with Woodside to provide the detailed design of the Greater Western Flank Phase 2 (GWF-2) flowline system offshore Western Australia.

The company said the deal, which will see a 12 month contract with Shell, will be carried out by Wood Group Kenny (WGK).

Wood Group has appointed three senior engineering specialists who will lead a new team of up to 20 people in the UK to build Wood Group's vibration service.
Wood Group will lead five new international joint industry projects (JIPs) working alongside operators, contractors and regulators on subsea projects.
The projects will run between 2015 and 2018.

Wood Group has won a front end engineering and design (FEED) contract for the subsea development of the Talisman Energy Ca Rong Do field offshore Vietnam.
The work will be carried out by Wood Group Kenny (WGK) who will also complete comprehensive flow assurance studies.
WGK’s Kuala Lumpur office will conduct the work on the subsea FEED and will be supported by other offices in Asia Pacific.
Wood Group has won a new contract to carry out front end engineering and design (FEED) work for the proposed Woodside Browse Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) development.
The 12 month contract for the project offshore Western Australia, is worth $6million and will be carried out by Wood Group Kenny (WGK).
The company will perform all design engineering for the insulated production flowline system required for the assets offshore gas-condensate fields from their offices in Perth.
The three assets – Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa – are 300km from the Kimberley coast.
Wood Group Kenny (WGK) secured a contract to support Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company (KPOC) in its Malaysian operations. The deal is part of deal to pull off a deepwater first in the region.
The firm will support work on pipeline engineering and flow assurance engineering studies for the Kamansu East (KME) field offshore Sabah.
Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has secured a contract with Woodside to provide the front end engineering design (FEED) of the flowline system on its North West Shelf (NWS) project in Western Australia.
The company will also provide associated procurement support on the proposed Greater Western Flank Phase 2 (GWF-2).
The primary engineering focus of the GWF-2 flowline FEED is to develop the flowline system for the final investment decision planned for the second half of 2015.
