Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) has appointed two new directors, Allan MacAskill and Andrew Wilson, to its board. The appointments represent more than 60 years of combined energy sector experience for AREG, whose mission is to champion the Northeast's renewable energy sector.
Ahmed Ouenes, CEO and founder of Olive Energy, said the company had carried out work with SNPC. The two companies had drilled and produced multiple wells during 2021-22, with flow rates “much higher” than current production.
The MoU today demonstrates that “not only are we are strengthening our energy security and lowering bills for consumers in the long term, we’re unlocking huge opportunities for investment in British expertise and jobs in the process”.
Zenith said there were near-term growth opportunities. This would involve infill drilling and sidetracks for six new wells, boosting output to 15,000 bpd.
