Pipeline inspection specialist NDT Global has opened a new office in Aberdeen, bucking the trend during the prolonged oil and gas downturn.
The Dublin-headquartered firm, which specialises in ultrasonic pipeline inspection and data analysis, announced it would also open a base in Leduc, Canada in addition to Aberdeen and existing operations around the world.
The new office in Aberdeen, Scotland, illustrated the company’s confidence in the North Sea sector’s long-term future, the company said.
The new Canadian facility located in Leduc, Alberta, is almost 5 times bigger than the previous one in Nisku, from which NDT Global first began to offer Canadian pipeline services in 1981.
The new location is only a few kilometers south east of the Edmonton International Airport. The facility has tool testing capabilitiesand can host regular training workshops for customers.
