Integrated production data solutions specialist Aventa Systems recently presented its latest Robert Gordon University award to the university’s top BSc (Honours) information systems technology year four student.
Highlighting its commitment to supporting young talent, Aventa’s managing director, Bill Whibley, was on hand at RGU’s School of Computing to award Cameron Butchart with the prize.
Cameron received the accolade for his impressive achievements in the final year of his honours degree, where he consistently produced an exceptional standard of work.
Cameron said: “I was immensely honoured and proud to receive the prestigious Aventa Systems award from Bill Whibley. Not only was it a great achievement for me, but notably an important recognition of the strong bond between university, student and sponsor.
“The well-structured courses at the RGU School of Computing, together with the commitment and dedication of IT Business sponsors, show the successful partnership for the benefit of education and the economy.”
Mr Whibley added: “The north-east of Scotland boasts a wealth of IT talent and we are delighted to be able to support students and award the hard work necessary for forging a career in the industry.
“It’s extremely important to recognise the efforts of these students – many of whom have to work part-time alongside their full-time studies.
“We congratulate Cameron, who is a very worthy winner, and wish him all the very best for the future.”
