NOF Energy is hoping to strengthen industry ties within the energy supply chain with a bespoke graduate training scheme.
The business support provider for the energy sector has successfully trialled its supply chain engagement programme via its partnership with Maersk Oil.
The week-long scheme was designed to give trainee engineers an in-depth understanding of different stages of a project from the perspective of both contractors and suppliers.
The programme involved visiting a number of energy businesses on a fact-finding mission focusing on subsea, pipeline engineering and fabrication divisions of the sector.
“The supply chain engagement programme has offered the MOUK graduate engineers unparalleled access to supply chain companies at different levels in the project life cycle and by spending a half-day with each company have gained an in depth understanding of their business activities and technical capabilities,” said NOF Energy deputy chief executive Joanne Leng.
NOF is now seeking to enroll the programme on a wider scale by engaging more of its business partners, she added.
