Energy services firm Proserv has completed the first phase of one of its biggest contracts in Brazil.
The Aberdeen-quartered company has delivered three of nine control systems that will support drill pipe riser (DPR) intervention services at depths of 2,500 metres.
The work is part of a $40million deal with an undisclosed organisation and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
David Lamont, the business’s chief executive, said the progress was a testament to employees’ hard work.
He added: “From our subsea controls experts in Great Yarmouth – who are responsible for the overall project execution, engineering and build of the control systems – to the delivery of the first accompanying hydraulic power units by our dedicated manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, this success demonstrates the international collaboration across the business to deliver best in class technology and service.”
The DPR control system has been described as the fist of its kind for the offshore industry.
It uses deepwater electro-hydraulic installation and workover controls for supporting the manipulation of subsea operations, the tubing hanger running tools and surface test trees.
Proserv has offices in 11 countries, totalling 29 operating centres.
