Statoil has extended Altus Intervention’s current contract to provide mechanical wireline services to cover an additional five fields in the Norwegian North Sea.
The well intervention specialists are already contracted across 16 fixed Norwegian installations.
The current agreement between Statoil and Altus provides cover for wireline operations, tractor conveyance, cased hole logging, as well as plug and abandonment services.
The new two-year deal will also see the company provide similar services across the Heidrun, Statfjord, Snorre, Sleipner and Statoil satellite fields.
Altus is a subsidiary of the Qinterra Group.
Qinterra’s chief executive officer Åge Landro has welcomed the contract expansion.
He said: “The contract provides Statoil with access to Altus Interventions expertise and technology across all its fields, and confirms our strong capabilities in an advanced well intervention market.
“In particular, the Heidrun field is great example of Statoil working in partnership with us to deliver creative downhole solutions and optimal well performance. I am delighted to see our innovative relationship continue.”
