The Texas economy endured a challenging first half thanks to a sustained low oil price, according to Dallas Fed business economist Jesus Cañas.
However, Mr Canas said he now expects to see employment start to grow in the second half of the year.
“Despite a difficult first half, the outlook for the Texas economy is still positive during the second half as we expect 1% employment growth,” he said.
