Shell has luanched a new delivery service for fuels – bringing it right to your driveway or garage.
Shell TapUp makes it possible to order fuel through a special app, after which an electrically driven vehicle delivers the fuel to the desired location.
The growth of the internet in recent years has seen a growing trend for ordering products online for home delivery.
‘The needs of our customers are constantly changing and of course we want to provide them with the best possible service: quality and convenience are central here,’ says Machteld de Haan, General Manager of Shell Retail Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg) and France.
‘With Shell TapUp we are now taking the next step in this development and we want to respond even better to the needs of our customers.’
Shell TapUp starts as a pilot in four neighborhoods in Rotterdam: Overschie, Hillegersberg Zuid, Park Zestienhoven and Terbregge.
Motorists in these neighborhoods can order Shell FuelSave Euro 95 and Shell FuelSave Diesel via the special app.
In addition, Shell TapUp supplies fuel to employees with an office in the Van Nelle factory.
For delivery, a compact, electrically powered vehicle has been developed that can take sufficient fuel for a dozen cars.
