The Shadow Chancellor has called for changes to the UK Government’s tax regime for the oil and gas industry.
He called for further steps to be taken by Chancellor George Osborne to help the sector deal with falling oil prices before the budget is announced in March.
Mr Balls was joined by Scottish Labour leader Jim Murphy and Shadow Energy Minister Tom Greatrex on his visit to Aberdeen, which comes on the same day as an announcement by Talisman that up to 300 postions with the company could go.
